Everyone,

I currently have a 75 gallon in wall tank that is about 4 feet off the ground to the bottom. This would be perfect for a sump and I would love the extra water.

My problem is that I am right where I want to be on electricity costs, I run dual emperor 400 filters that pull 7 watts each. Most sump pumps are 100watts plus.

However, if the pump put enough heat in the water that my heater didn't have to run that would offset the cost of running the pump.

I don't know if this will work because my tank is in the basement where it stays about 65 year round.

I can't afford to run another 150watts 24 hours a day at this point. (Okay it would be the breaking point of the wife and if I'm going to add that much I'd rather add another tank :) )

sorry to say, the pump is not going to add much, if any, heat to your tank.
