220g tank. 2x fluval fx5.

5 Oscars
6 tin foil barbs
5 featherfin catfish
15 silver dollars
7 geophagus
4 red spotted sevrums
5 pink tail chalceus
2 fire mouths
9 bala sharks
15 buenos aires tetra

What would you keep and what would you get rid of?

At the moment I do have all these fish don't worry I do have 7 tanks and not all these are in same tanks they are spread between 220g.75g.55g. These fish are all still very small sd's or sevrums being the biggest at 5" just asking as looking into the future. I brought a lot of the same type of fish to get better looking fish, pairs or personality sooooo just a general question thankyou

I would keep Just keep the dollars, tetra and sevs.
Remove the rest.

And Maybe add some fancy pleco and a trio of pictus

That's another point I want to stick to 25/30% water change a week

Hello; Let me restate to check if I understand. You wish to pick from among the fish you now have to come up with a stocking plan for a 220 gallon?

You will not have to sell, kill, or trade any fish as you have six other tanks in which to house them?

My assumption being that you had some interest in the current fish because you bought them in the first place.
I also am assuming that you will keep the current fish and not add new ones?

Seems a logical choice will be to house the larger types in the 220 up to some reasonable capacity and spread the others around into the other tanks. By this scenario the smaller species will wind up in the smaller tanks.

Having done this for over five decades I feel safe in expecting that time may answer some of the question. Fish may die of natural age, accident or such. Tanks may break, leak or such. You may also run into compatability conflicts and be forced to separate some species.

I must say this is an interesting and nice problem to have. Lots of ways to go and still have a nice tank. You can also change things around at any time. My suggestion is to try a few combos and see what you like.

Yes that's basically correct. I brought 5 Oscars today for my 70g tanks and was looking at moving them into my 220 when they need to be moved. Not saying I will get all 5 to get on together (slim chance) but when the time is right what other fish do I put in what tanks.my 4 other tanks are not for this type of fish at all so just call it 3 tank and yes I do love all my fish :) IF fish do have to get re homed they will not be unless checked by my self if I couldn't find a home only other way would be to buy another tank lol

I'd make it a south american tank and at least keep the silver dollars as 15 of them would look pretty nice. Probably also keep the sevs and the geos. If you want to keep the WC's low the oscars won't even be an option lol

That's basically what I have in my 220 now lol with bala sharks pink tails firemouths and like 20 cory's
