This guy is causing some problems in my tank. It's about 10-12". I don't know the confirmed species, but it's something of the Vieja/Paratheraps species.. Potentially a hybrid? The fish has some scaring on one side of his body after an attack from a 14" Male Red Devil.

What is wrong with his back? Looks like he is missing 1/3 of his scales

I guess your right, but with my location, I paid quite a bit for it, and i'm trying to not take to big of a loss, and was looking for suggestions for a reasonable price tag.
