Would 216 watts be too much for a 180 gallon tank.how about 260 or 384 watts??those are the 3 Im debating on..I really want the 384 watts but what I want and what I should get are 2 different stories.....No plants in my tank......I dont want an algae bloom...Lights are on approx. 8 hours a day....

I like a bright tank,and I dont think 2 watts per gallon is alot ..And correct me if Im wrong but I dont believe 2 watts per gallon is nearly enough for plants...I think you need 3-5 watts per gallon for plants...King Edward;1318553; said:

A nifty way round expensive lights if you still want the cleaning benefit of a planted tank is floating plants...they need less light cause they're closer.

I think Im going with a 260 watt ,48 inch long setup...I dont "need"to get a 72 inch long light setup just because my tank is 72 long,right?I can go with a 48 long setup I would think???light reflects,right??
Yeah, your right...whatever you like! I am use to darker blackwater aquariums, but I like bright ones too...
