:)Guys, i saw this lap (about 13 or 14 in) priced at around 75-80 USD. In the land where you can get 5 inch dels for 7 dollars and ornates for 12 dollars, I think its a little more than expensive.:irked: But since they're not really available much this side of the planet, I'm very much inclined to getting it. :nilly:

In my 10 years of keeping fishes, this my first time to see a Lapradei. With how the local fishkeeping thing is going, I might not even see another Lap again, let alone own one.

Those who have Laps...
for how much did you get yours?
is this a fair price for this Lap?
should i buy it or not? ( i know its up to me, but IF you were in my place...)
thanks!

where i am polys r not too cheap... like 60 for an ornate and a lap or an endli is like 80... but then senegals are like 15... palmas r 25 and delhezis r like 40

so concidering the price difference for u there id say its pretty expencive but id buy it anyway
these fish are awesome!

I got my laps for $80 a piece at 11-12 inches. Laps are more expensive because they are still wild caught. Those $7-12 bichirs you get in PI are farm bred bichirs. I think they are worth it especially since you don't see them around that much in your area.

That's a pretty normal price for around here at least.....i paid $40 for my lap when it was 8" and $50 for my ornate when it was 8"

Brother spoofs!!! where did you see this LAP?:D was it the one i told you about or is this different....:D

$80 is on the high side but not outragious. if availabilty is a factor it would be a good price.

my vote is to pick it up :D

that one. it's a lap indeed!
but (for those in the Philippines) sorry i can't tell you guys yet where i saw it. haha! it's a secret!

thanks for your replies, everyone. I'm still thinking about it but i'd love to buy it if only i had the money right now....:(

(musings...)
i'll try to talk to the owner for a special discount. or maybe the shop would accept a deposit or something...
Dang! i wish some dedicated hobbyist would start a project on breeding these wild caught species! I've collected numerous specimens of the farm bred species but not a single fish in my collection is wild caught. Look:
4 dels
3 sens
3 ornates
2 albino sens
2 endlis
2 pollis
1 LAP--- ... I WISH!!!

If i get this fish (it's a male, btw), i'll look for a mate and try to breed them myself. lol
then i can sell the fry for a more reasonable price!
keep the replies going and you guys just might push me to do it! :D

thanks a bunch, you 'MFK'ers!
