Hi, I'm starting to set up a system with a 40 gallon display tank, and a 20 gallon sump. I'm using the Berlin method. The rule of thumb is 1.5-2lbs of live rock per gallon; but is that per gallon of the display or for the whole system? Also same question with water movement?

i believe per gallon, but the more live rock u have the better it going to be. U can never have to much liverock lol. Liverock is the "filter" for your salt tank. U want good water movement too. There are some really good powerheads out there to give your water movement.

Yes never can have to much live rock, untill you have to sell your car to pay for more of it.lol Just trying to start the tank with minimum until I get the money for the rest. For water flow, I'm having two korila 1 pumps on both sides. And for the sump return, I'm going to use two Hydor Flo wavemakers. Just not sure what pump I'm going to use in my sump yet. Thinking a mag-7 or larger. Any thoughts?
