Hikari, NLS, and Ken's are the top three on my list too (in that order) albeit I cannot afford to buy them in the quantities that would simplify my feeding efforts. So I use them only for small(ish) grow-outs. When fish get large, mine get mid-quality Zeigler's
http://www.zeiglerfeed.com/html/aquaculture.htm as far as a staple pellet goes.
Can any one else list their favorite pellets and their reasoning?
I do use a limited amount of these cheapies (poor quality for carnivores, better for omni- and herbivores but still poor because of the terrestrial carbs, not aquatic carbs)

This is an educational discussion - despite all the disagreements and "unpleasanties", there appears to be an agreement (at the face value) between Clay and RD that Clay's carnivore pellets with egg whites as a binder are superb:

What I'd really like is to hear the opinions of everyone but especially our Indian colleagues on the "scampi feed" pellets available in India, like these (see the lower third of the first page):

Do you see the ingredient list? It is next to perfect! Balaji (aka Shovelnose on PCF) tells us they make these pellets anywhere from ~50% up to 95% (!!!) in aquatic protein.
PIPE DREAM: MFK-ers could all chip-in and get a ship-load/plane-load of these over here?
