I'm wanting to soften my water by a small amount, aswell as tint the water a little.

I have a nice sized bag of Sphagnum moss (ground up.)

The tank is a 75gal (85ish total including wet/dry.)
My current chemestry is PH 7.75, GH 6, KH of 10.

How much would you folks recommend using so it dosn't affect the PH to much?

I am working on that now. I have schultz peat moss. First make sure there is nothing added like limestone or ferts. I took a cup and ahalf and am soaking it in a 5 gallon bucket to make a extract first then I will boil it down to sterilize and concentrate. My ph out of the tap is 7.8. I took some of the water after soaking one day and mixed it with tap water 1:3. It lowered my ph to 6.8. so I would be careful. I would try adding just half a cup and monitor your ph. When it gets to where you want it just remove the peat. When ph starts to rise put it back in. It is trial and error. Hopefully more trial than error. Good luck.
