How much pond coat?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That demention is equal to 64sq ft. A gallon of pond coat covers between 20-30 sq ft. U will need slightly more than 2gal. This is the full tank. When u add in the glass it would be less.....ur really making me do to much math lately. Lol

Alright, pond dimensions are set...had to change them due to the position of my room in the house, got a few corners to go around...small corners, so the tank will be 6'x4'x2' thinking about cutting up my 55 and making windows for the tank, any ideas on how muh I will be using now? Haha.

Ok will do two gal, I have a question on the corner seams, where the pieces of plywood come together. How should I fill the seams? Will goodstuff expandable foam work and allow pond coat to cover it? or will just a good layer of pond coat over it be fine?

Pond coat should be fine. Look at some of the build Threads on here to c how other people have done it. Check out the build on the 4200gal tank. He used pond coat.

Ok, will do. This is my whole plan on my tank, lemme know what you think.

Tank: 6' x 4' x 1.5'
2x4 frame
1" plywood attached to frame

Filtration:
60 Gallon Trash Can
filled with scrubbies
run off two (2) ViaAqua 4900's (1,321gph each)
Three (3) returns one for top, middle, and bottom strata

Heating:
One (1) Azoo Titanium Electric Heater (500w)
*Plus heat exchanged during filtration*
