Just found some great rocks while up in Montana and I am not sure if the biggest one is to big for my tank to handle? I have a standard 135g tank and the glass is 3/8" thick. Will the bottom of my tank support this rock it weighs 75lbs.

Put it directly on the eggcrate, then add the sand. No way I'd put that on top of sand. Any fish starts to dig and it might destabilize if on sand.

Thanks for your help, I am very happy with my new rocks!!

Nice!

What did you do to make sure they were sterile with something that big? (can't boil something that big...)

And how did you know they didn't have excess minerals in them that could leach into your aquarium (copper, iron, etc...)?

Thanks. The way I look at it is, every lake has rocks and I don't think most minerals would hurt fish? I first washed the rocks at car wash with high pressure and then soaked in hot water with a little bleach for a few hours. Then I rinsed with dechlorinator a few times. I found these rocks in the middle of the forest in Montana and am confident they are free of pollution of any kind which you never know when going to a dirty rock yard.
