How much salt can a FRT tolerate ?

What is the highest tolerable salt dosage for a FRT ?

I have tried 2 tablespoon/gallon in the past but is this too high?

That's not high at all. I keep mine in brackish systems with substrates of aragonite and limestone.

On a floating hydrometer, the light brackish I run reads in the 1.001 to 1.005 SG. And, I use sea salt mix to get the benefit of the buffers in the mix for achieving the high pH these turts prefer. The aragonite gravel keeps the pH level.
