Hi guys ive got to treat my aros scales for some kind of burn(see aro with holes down both sides)thread.
It does seem to be getting better through the twice weekly 35 to 40% water changes im doing, but im going to add some salt to try and heal it more.
Ive got polys and a dat and some tinnys in there,i think the tinnys will be fine but il ask this in the poly and dat sections to see what they say.
Would a tablespoon per gallon per day be ok and carry on with the wc and up the temp to about 84.
Ive asked koji but he answered me once and for some reason hes ignored or is too busy to answer the other pms ive sent,hopefully he will come on here and help:D.

It's usually a tablespoon for every 5-10 gallons, I wouldn't do it daily as it can raise the PH level higher. Just do it when u do wc and make sure it's freshwater aquarium salt.

1 tsb per 5 gal as mentioned, but table salt works just as well...iodised is also fine...i use it with my aros and rays with no problems do it at wc only or you will have to much salt in the water and kill your fish, 84-88f for the temp is good just make sure the aro doesn't get to stressed at to high of a temp but those temps are as high as i go with mine...gl let us know how it comes out..

Table salt????

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Anyways, forget about salt...it won't help, just continue the water changes.

i read the same thing...so i tried it and it cured my fish with ich, cured my aros fungus, cured everything....i added it to my tank with my new rays and they were calmer with it in and if i didn't add it after a wc the rays would twtich...from my exp. IT WORKS...so don't knock it till you try it...

another one for the band wagon...salt may not help this scale rot, but if it doesn't help the rot it will help the aro with secondary infections so it can put its amun system to work on the rot...
