Just got one for my goldfish, but how many pounds of sand should I get?

How much sand for a 150 gallon Rubbermaid pond?

Generally its a pound a gallon but you could probably get away with 100 pounds as it's a pond so you won't see the sand depth
Awesome, thank you! Wondering also, any opinions on if it should matter if I get white (pool filter) or black sand (blaster sand)? I mean, in how visible the fish would be (three goldies, and the rest of it is solid black)? Would they show up better against black, or should I use white sand to reflect more light?
Black sand could actually make the pond hot by obsorbing sun, like a black bottom pool. White would soon turn green in my opinion.....try a sample of both. Rubber made containers , put fish in both and see which one looks better.
