How Much Sand For A 150?

I am getting a new 150 and will be setting it up with pool sand. How much will I need to put a nice layer on the bottom? Thanks for the help!

Use this site, punch in how many inches you want (uniform depth) and it will tell you how many lbs of that substrate you'll need.

I recommend 1-2". The more sand the more of a hassle it is to mix every month.

Most would recommend 1 pound per gallon, so you would get 150 pounds that would be about 2 iches of sand

Ive got a 125 with 3 50lb bags and it gives me about a inch and 1/2

most bags come in 50lb. increments, depending on where you buy them.

i got my play sand from home depot, i think it was around 2- bucks per 50 lb bag.but rinse it real well because its pretty dirty...
