How much sand should I get?

I have to questions. How many pounds of sand do I need to fill up a 55 gallon. How many pounds of sand do I need to fill up a 125 gallon? Please let me know. Thanks.

they say 1lb / gallon
i have found that it is a little too much for my liking ... in my 180 i put about 110lbs of pool filter sand, and it covers the bottom to about 2" deep (so about 3/4" above the trim)
