how much sand

i will start a new 125 set-up (72x18) soon,plan to start with a 50 lb.bag of quickcrete sand.does anyone know how much is needed to get ONLY 1 to 1-1/2 inch depth?

1 bag should do it

The general rule of thumb that has worked for me is 1 lb. of sand for 1 gallon of water. Hope that helps.

I think mine took around 75# to get that deep.

Not if he only wants 1"-1.5" depth of sand.

Haha no quickrete makes sand also, I have it in my tanks. It's all purpose sand or something like that

Thanks, yea i have the right bag.quickcrete makes all-purpose sand in a clear bag.I can use the 50# to start, then see if its as deep as I want
