How much sand

I'm getting a 6 foot x 2 foot x 2 foot tank very soon, just wondering, how much sand would i need to have a decent layer?

I'm also putting in some river rocks as well, so the base doesn't have to be completely sand, and some of the height will be made up with rocks.

in my 7x2x2 i put somewhere around 60-70 pounds of sand. nice layer, not too thick, and enough to look full.

i think sometimes less is more
i started of with a great load but now i only have a small covering.
