I am breaking down my African Cichlid tank, and am changing the setup to a SA/CA tank instead. I found someone who wants to purchase my rocks that fill my 75 gallon tank, but I have no idea what to charge. I told him I would give him a good deal, but I wanted to see what you guys thought was reasonable. I have a few nice pieces of Lava Rock, a few pieces of Slate, a few of those red/white rocks with the holes in them that you can find that the LFS or Petco, and then a bunch of rocks that I collected and sterilized so that they were safe for tank use. Here is a pic of my tank:

What do you guys think I should charge?

Thanks in advance for the imput!

A few dollars...

I go to the landscaping yard a couple of times a year and pick up what they consider small broken pieces which they would otherwise throw away. I have never been asked to pay for it even though I offer to every time... instead I take them a toy every Christmas for their toy drive...

So since I get 2~6 times that much each year for the price of a toy... I can't suggest charging much if anything...

Depends on your area and how available big rocks are I guess o.O...best I can find where I live are small pebbles in the soil(unless I buy them by the pound at a LFS)

Idk prices for rocks at all :grinno:

Depending on the type but around here rock goes for anywhere from $1 to $3 a pound. I never buy rock because there are plenty of places to find rock, hiking along trails and lakes.

true, i found my rocks in the garden lol

Keep the slate for the CA/SA to spawn on. A good way to gauge price is to consider the amount that you spent on the rock and charge a fraction of that. If you got them for free then consider the time you put into selecting and transporting them.
