They are about 7-9 iches and are kept in a 135g there are 2bass and 2 jags....i only ask because i seen the white worms which are because of nitrates or over feeding...some help or how much you feed yours

shrimp, pellets, cut fish, dried and frozen krill... feeders as a treat but not goldfish... pellets are the best thing to feed your cichla.. do more water changes to get rid of those worms and dont forget to change or clean ur filter media... just not at the same time ;)

boosten how do i get them on pellets they just spit them out and i dont want to starv them can i use big pellets cat food dog food:headbang2or:ROFL:

try freeze dried krill first see if they will take that.. with pellets i found that if you wet the pellets a bit so that they are not complete dry and hard, sometimes they will take them. you may want to do the same with the krill. you might have to starve them for a few days. i usually will try when my cichla are starting to look a bit to chubby so that they dont get skinny but back into shape (i want natural looking fish, not slobs) i dont feed them for like one day then i try the following day... i kinda throw the pellets at the top of the water.. some times they take and most of the time they dont ;) but keep trying they eventually will. the longest ill starve them is like 4 days. 5 tops ... i keep a close eye on my fish and making sure everything looks good. if they dont eat the pellets i will try another time.. i will wait for them to get even bigger. i dont starve them if they are under 6-7 inches because its not healthy.. hope this helps
