Hello all,
I've read the articles on WHAT to feed my new silver, but what I'm wondering is how MUCH he should be fed? This is the largest fish I've owned, and he's still a baby. I know how much my other fish will eat by now, but none of them have the sheer mass of this arowana.
He accepts pretty much everything I offer, as long as I offer it in the correct order. I only get to feed him once a day in the evening (I work long hours). When I get home, I start him with a few (5-8) floating carnivore sticks. Once he finished those, he gets 2 freeze-dried krill. After those, he gets a medium-large cricket or two as treats. Afterwards, I'll usually slip in a krill or two while I watch TV or play a video game. I don't like putting excess food in the tank because more often than not, a decent amount will go unnoticed start to fowl the water. I like to make sure he's eaten everything I've put in before I add more.
Currently, he's about 8-9" long. My question is, am I feeding him enough? My other growing fish seem to be able to eat their body weight in fish filets almost every night (not that I feed them that much).
Thanks for any input!
- John
