How much should i pay for an asian red tail cat and a TSN each. I talked to one of the LFS's today about getting 1 of each and they are to get back to me. I just dont wanna be a sucker:ROFL:

2-4" artc should be no more than $15.

2-5" tsn should be no more than $25.

but the bigger the fish, the more they'll cost.

Except when they hit about 24", then they are free!

I agree, But the Red-Tails are in season, I've seen 4 of them at my lfs for $12.99. They are about 3 inches long and eating sinking pellets and ghost shrimp.

Good Luck though when the lfs calls you with prices!!:grinyes:

I got the word last night. At cost the artc is around $13.00 and the shovelnose tigrinis is $200.00. seems a bit much for the tsn so imma look around a bit.

A tigrinus shovelnose (brachyplatystoma tigrinum) is totoally different than a tiger shovelnose (pseudoplatystoma fasciatum). Actually that is a very good price for a tigrinus at a LFS.

WOW! I'm glad i posted that then. I'll have to look more into the tsn. thanks gman you daman

ok i was confused. could you post a pic of each identifying them so i can decide. I dont mind paying 200 bucks if the fish is worth it. or maybe i'll get both :)

just google them dude. if you get those two wrong, then you deserve to be ripped off. :p

but incase you didn't know already, you CAN'T keep anything (especially another catfish) with an asian red tail.

it might work for the first few months, but once they get 12", you should expect dead tankmates.
