Looks like a blue eyed panaque which probably could demand such a price depending on its size.
You should use the photo of the actual fish, this is a google image and could very well be a different fish than was offered to you.
Yea, I believe these plecos to be rare enough that you’d be lucky to see one in person. Especially one this size as they are slow growers
Not rare anymore i see them in LFS often now with high pricetag. Used to be so rare many years ago when i was in the hobby though. I see them too often now to consider them not rare just expensive
This is my fish and photo. It's a BEC and basically a dime a dozen these days. Just need someone willing to import them in large batches. I import them and depending on size go for $250 to $500 depending on size.
