How much to feed pacu?

I have 2 almost full grown pacu They get fed every other day. regular diet is about 1-2 square inch block of homemade frozen for each fish. I've been moving away from frozen and toward veggies. I think 2 grapes per fish every other day is enough??

Considering when I used to keep them they took out a fish every day, I’d say they can take quite a bit lol. And they were 8 inches...
That sounds like enough, if you aren’t sure fry feeding more until they lose their appetite, that should help to figure out a good number.

My nitrates are always so bad and my pacu are kinda fat

How often do you clean? Pacus are a mess lol
You can try potholes to help the nitrates. It won’t do too much but it will make a slight difference.

How big is “almost” full grown? If they’re what I consider almost full grown then 2 grapes every other day is nowhere near enough. Also look into aquatic veggies. I don’t have time atm to find the link since I’m at work but look at the pinned threads by RD. And you should find one about terrestrial veggies vs aquatic veggies I think, maybe it was by duanes .

once a week. I got some giant danios to help with the mess and as kinda feeders. Ive got a whole hydroponic garden in the sump (assume you ment pothos)

The tank is SA cichlids. I didn't know if pacu were technically cichlids or tetra.
