Unsure about this. I have a tank containing..

five 3"+ mono's
one 4" archer
figure 8 puffer
one 3" columbian shark
two 4" angels
one 3" scat
one 5" pleco
one 7" BGK.

I usually feed two blocks of frozen krill or frozen blood worms, with a scoop of flake food a few hours later and some algea tablets for the mono's. Am I over or under feeding?

are they eating it all

Actually, I have all juvnilles feeding mainly pellets, a touch of krill, and gave them some of shrimp the last couple of days. I feed them as much as they can eat in about 2 minutes or until they stop feeding, which is slightly less. I've been feeding them 4 times a day on most days and some times taper it back to 2. I might give them a day of fasting here and there, not real sure why, but someone made a logical statement about this and I bit. I think that is generally for African Cichlids that experience bloat more frequently........

As long as thres no left over food to contaminate the water Id say your fine with what your feeding them.

my concern really is underfeeding, my archer grabs the whole cube sometimes and swallows the bulk of it down not leaving much for everyone else besides the scraps that float off from it

my concern would be the mixture of freshwater fish (BGK, pleco and angels) mixed with brackish water fish (monos, archers, fig8, scat and columbian sharks).

the rationale I've heard (which makes perfect sense) is that in the wild these fish don't have someone coming to the river/lake/stream/whatever to feed them so many times a day. they eat when there is food around to be eaten and will go sometimes days without a meal. :)

Im moving all the brackish fish to a 120 gallon and starting it as a "true" brackish tank in july. Most of those fish are sold as fresh water when young, so by the time im upgrading them itll be due time for salt.
