depends on the waste load, especially if you have a plecostomus or an oscar. I would remove 15 gallons every week

water changes are definitely subjective, there is no "right" answer . . . you ask six people, you'll get six answers . . . mine has a light load, lots of plants, and heavy filtration . . . so I do maybe 20-25% changes weekly . . .

I change about 1/3d on my tanks each week.
