Im moving my 75 tomorrow and was wondering how much of the water i need to save in order that it will not have to be re cycled?

A lot of the bacteria isn't in the water, but on the gravel, the filter media, decor, etc. Keeping this stuff wet will definitely be key in keeping your tank cycled. When we moved, we saved about half our water.

ditto

I plan on keeping all gravel and filter media wet. will that be enough to keep the tank from re cycleing. Its a 75 with one 12 inch midas in it and i run a fluval 405 and a ac110

I would keep an eye on the parameters just in case, but I think you should be just fine.

as noted, water doesn't cycle, it's gravel and filter media that counts . . . that being said, I usually try to save about 50-75% of the water anyway, so that I don't monkey with the water conditions too much

basically treat it like a water-change situation

Just to be safe, get your hands on some nitrification bacteria to help aid the bacteria. Do it AFTER you get the tank re-setup.

Good recomendation!
