I just got a new 75g and I got some big pieces of flagstone to make caves whatever. How much weight can the base of my tank hold? What is the best way to distribute the load? The tank is 48 x 18 with a center support. I can tank pics of the rocks if that helps.

I've seen HUNDREDS of pounds of rocks and sand in tanks, i dont think you have to worry. There are some that use a hard plastic screen (not sure what it is called) that distributes the weight and prevents scratches from the rocks.

i asked my LFS this Q a long long time ago, and he said that the glass will never break, if anything the silicone seals will pull apart (still a very bad thing, but not devastating...)

people load them with rocks all the time without problems, i wouldn't worry about it too much

keep in mind, also, that any rocks you put in are going to displace water, reducing the amount of water weight. most rocks feel quite light once they are under water.

^^ all that

yep its all about weight distribution..
