if anyone could guess a safe amount of wieght for a floor.

I have a 7 ft span between supporting beam and wall in the basement. there are 2x10s with 13 inch centers.

this is the area I want to put an indoor pond. I just want to make sure it is safe.

if anyone has any advice I would be happy to listen...

Going to have to start an engineering forum.....

After reading some information around the net, I have decided to put the pond in the basement on the concrete. better safe that sorry. Also my wife would skin me alive if the floor did not support the weight...

Good choice...

LOL.....I face the same question here too...

Only Im not going to think about it...
In my case Im about to set up my indoor pond in a room that was never built to any codes...
The floor studs got to be about 24" apart and the plywood flooring is the thin, cheap stuff...LOL

Thats the bad news, the good news is that if the porch floor sags down it can only go about an inch before it hits the sidewalk that is underneath the porch.

Do I think this can work?
I dont know, I hope it works, but if it dont and the floor fails then I will just have to fix it until it does work..

Should make an interesting photo if it fails,,,,I will post it...

If I did that my wife would seriously cut my nuts off. I guess it woudl be a good way to get out of having kids.
