I got a line on a used custom Oceanic 550G glass aquarium. Comes with a nice stand and canopy and dual corner overflows. Problem is I have to drive a long way to get it and transport it back home. Thats the easy part! Hard part I think is going to be actual physically moving it on (and off!) the trailer. The owner says he can wrangle up some guys to help get it on the trailer since I'll be in a different city. I'm wondering how much this thing is going to weigh. Any educated guesses? Dimensions are 8'x3'x3'. Not sure what the glass thickness is but I imagine its about 3/4".

It took 4 people to pick up my 220. Check google you should be able to find the weight of 3/4 inch glass. I hope you have a fork lift or crane to pick it up. I was looking at a 400g tank on craigs list and was thinking I could put pipe on the floor of my house to role it around my house. one of my neighbors has a really big fork lift that I was going to uses to get it to my door.

If I have to guess I say 8-10 people specially if it is glass.

My 540G was about 900-1,000 if I remember. It was 8x3x3 and had 3/4" glass.

Moved it with six-eight people the first time. My sister and I moved it by ourselves the second time.

You and your sister must be bodybuilders if the second time it only took the two of you lol.

Thanks everyone. Figured it'd be heavy!

@Pharoah - What did you use for your second move? Hydraulic table jacks & come-alongs?

My 300 is 460 pounds so I would imagine somewhere in the 900-1000 pound range.

Is this with 5/8" glass? I was curious how much my 300 weighed. my bottom panel is 3/4" tho.
It was a beast for my friend and I to move by ourselves.
I needed to move it solo, so I ended up building a temporary rolling stand that matches the other stand. I simply slide the tank over and roll on.
