Bigger does not always mean a fish can be sold for more...

If a buyer had to cover shipping costs from SA to their locality on a fish that size I suspect that it would need to sell for $500-$800 just to cover costs. As far as finding an actual buyer, there are only a handful of hobbyists with tanks large enough to even consider it. It would be a very difficult fish to sell to anybody outside of a public aquarium. I doubt anyone imports it without a buyer already lined up. With no buyer in mind I suspect that whoever imported it would be sitting on it for quite a while. With what it would cost to feed the beast they would most likely sell it for cost just to get out from under it.

It's cost quite a bit, incl the tank and setup you'll need to house that beast in!

i have never seen a pinima that big, possibly a sp. thyrorus or a sp. vazzoleri... beautiful fish though!!!
