I want to know how much you guys would pay for the following: 220 gal Perfecto tank 5 yrs old, with (4) 1.5 in bulkheads and (4) 3/4 in bulkheads. No stand or anything else just tank. The tank it self seems to be structurally good and the seals are fine, but it was used as a saltwater tank and has that multi-colored growth which all saltwater tanks have everywhere. ( I think it is called Coralline Algae). If you could give your opinions on how much you would pay for it I would greatly appreciate it. Also how would you go about getting that multi-colored algae and calcium build up off? I have tried using vinegar on my 135 gal but I could never get it all of. Thank you guys very much.

Thanks guys, how would you go about building a stand? I want it to look pretty nice so cinder blocks are out of the question, unless you could put a decorative wrapping around it or something?

EDIT* Oh ya, I seem to remember perfecto isn't the best manufacture, what do you think?

I like OCEANIC, but you got a nice tank and you will be OK. Just make sure the sealing looks solid. Also, I like wood stands, because I seek that furniturelike look.

If it needs a lot of cleaning and has stains $220. It's an older tank with nothing and no stand. If it had a nice stand and some odds and ends $400-$500. As is no more the $220 $1 per gallon Is fair.

The primary determining factor if condition. Then follows age, supply, demand and availability.............

Oh yeah, forgot the most important one. It depends on how much you want it.............................

$1 per gallon. Chips and scratches deduct per incident. A large chip with "potential" to be a problem, I would take off $20 minimum. An obvious previous repair, same. Point is, a new tank will cost more, but what is your piece of mind worth?
My 2¢.
