How much?

I want to pick up a tank locally off of craigslist. How do you guys go about calculating about how much a used tank is worth? I think I saw one post in here that said about 40 cents per gallon is this correct? What about stands, lids, equiptment? I am looking at 75 gallon set ups with the stand and lid and one 175 bowfront set up. Thanks for the help.

I go by the general rule that if it is in good shape 1 dollar per gallon glass tank 2 dollar per gallon acrylic

If it has a nice stand and canopy that would add to the value

I'd say a 75 w/stand & equipment should sell for $200. The 175 bowfront should be $500-600. Pricing can vary based on fancy lighting.

Yea that's about right but what's great about craifslist you can always talk pple down.offer them 125 and go from there.be a salesmen and control the situation lol

I'm a cheapskate. I wouldn't pay more than 125 for the 75 plus stand. If he throws in filters etc to make it a full set up, I'd pay 150-200.
