Hiya ryaaaaan, yeah red belly nattereies are the most common and the cheapest, small ones (a little bigger than a quarter) run about $4-5 in this area but since they are blackmarket there if you find them expect to pay a higher price Remember that in Ca. if they catch you with them they can confiscate not just the fish but all of your tanks, fine you, and even ban you from owning fish for a couple of years.
