Hi guy,

i'm in the process of curing by aro from fin rot and how often do i add salt?

do i add one every water change?

cuz i do 10% everyday.

add salt the water you add to bring it to the same level as the tank

how long does it take for fin rot to heal?

right now i'm using e.m. erythromycin for the treatment. this is the second treatment using this med, however it not helping.

also i'm using salt as well.

what do u guys think and ur recommendation?

plz help, cuz it getting worse.

Don't over salt your tank.

How big is your tank that you're doing 10% water changes every day? That's pretty excessive.

Remember that as water evaporates the salt stays behind also, so always match your dosage of salt with the amount of water you're adding to the tank at that momment in time.

If it's fin rot for sure then you're adding to his stress by changing the water daily. What type of filtration are you using? It is possible you're doing more damage than good on the biological filter's level. Not allowing the tank to fully complete it's cycle. How new is this tank also?

I would do water tests currently before anything else, see what your chemical levels look like.

I would do weekly 50% water changes and just add as much salt for the amount of water you are replacing. What kind of salt are you using? Aquarium salt has directions on how much salt per gallon to put.

Add salt when you do a water change, but just enough to compensate for the water you took out. The salt in your tank, does not evaporate.

i have a 150g using fx5, tankmate are 2 pleco and the aro

i reduce the water lvl down to 50g so i can treat the finrot

using aquarium salt and doing the water change as the medication directed.

so how long do u guy think the finrot will last?

so far i'm been treating it for 3 day now and the dark red brown at the edge has not disappear yet.

plz help
