I'm currently treating my fish with the salt and heat method to get rid of Ich.

Temp is at 84 right now and slowly building in a 100g tank. How often do I do water changes and how much water do I take out? I've read a few different opinions as to how much to take out so I'm not sure. The last water change I did was about 3 days ago and I've been treating them for 3 days too.

I think it depends how you are treating it. One thing you need to think about is if you are medicating the water then changing it will removed the med.

For the salt and heat method I would actually do lots of water changes of about 50%. You just need to try and replace the salt you took out

My best tip for ich is that do not stop treating when the fish seem clear. This can actually be a better time to treat, why? Ich has a three stage life cycle of, on the fish, on the substrate and in the water. Only when it is in the water can you kill it, so you won't see it.

Personally I use a UK med called Protozin for ich. I do a large water change before, disturbing all the substrate. Then I do the course of meds and have the tank at a high heat. Then after a week I do a water change, and if the ich is still present I redo the med course.
Protozin is an amazing med and I have used it many times, even with clown loach and I have never lost a fish.

when using salt and heat an issue I would always make sure of, especially if you use something like a python to change water, is to make the sure the temperature is stable since your tank will be at an elevated temperature
