How often do they shed their stinger?

Just wondering how often stingrays shed their stinger and if there are any signs of it happening ?

Mine is about to shed his now you can see the new one growing in over top of the old one.

Not sure if it always happens this way its my first time

Environment, genetics and diet all play a role. Some will only drop a barb a year, others tend to grow them quickly.

Is the Barb being dropped the last one on their tail? im new to this so not sure exactly what is dropping. anyone have a pic ?

Depends on how the new barb grows in. I've seen some grow in under the original barb and push it off, I've seen others come in over the top of the old barb.
