how often do u clean your pipe!!??

so i noticed to day after a water change that build-up in my return liens is starting to come loose and go into my tank when i turn the pumps back on i was wondering how often people clean their return lines from the sump/canister??

I don't believe I ever have. I will when I tear every thing down for rebuild in a couple weeks.

I've never cleaned mine in the 13 years I've been keeping fish.

But this guy told me I should clean the pipes before every big date.

Lol that's hilarious.

Seriously though, if you're getting buildup maybe you should pull them off and run a big pipecleaner thru them. Another idea might be to catch the debris with a net or something when you turn your filter back on.

i detach mine when they look dirty during a water change and swoosh them around in the dirty water bucket to get any loos gunk off.
