Ok well I'm a member of a few different forums and from 90% of them they say feed once a day everyday.

Some say twice a day.

Some say once every other day.

I'm curious as to how often you guys feed your fish, I have a pred. tank and I feed once a day when I get home from work, same with the small 29 gallon tank. Am I feeding them too often? They always seem hungry but what animal isn't? Just curious

depends on the fish to be honest with you. If you're talking about sea horess a couple times a day if you're talking about umh lions about once per 3 days. It just depends on what the fish needs

Fry 3x/day, <1" 1x/day, 2-4" every other day, 5-7" every 3 days, >7", 1-2x/week. Also depends on if it's an active hunter or lurker. Hunters use up more energy than a lurking species. If feeding daily, it is always best to fast, 1 day/week.

Thanks for the info, that was the basic info I was looking for.

more feeding=more waste=higher phosphates=more algae... when i have fish they get fed twice a week. Seahorses are an exception and they get fed once a day.

keep in mind that many of the fish don't eat every day or even every other day in the wild.

whatever you do the most important thing it to be consistent.

A fat fish is an unhealthy fish.

very true. i feed mine once every 3-4 days. i have a 10g nano. ive heard people feeding once every 10 days. just depends on your livestock. feeding less = less algae... thats for sure.

My fish-only tank is fed once every other day, the fish my reef tank is fed every 3rd day, the corals once or twice a week. My scooter dragonet (in its own tank) is fed daily.
