How often do you guys feed newborns?

The stickies are a little out dated soo just wanted to get some insight from those that are breeding rays. How often in a 24hr period do u feed the newborns... I have been feeding mine in the morning and evenings... so lets here ya

First couple days they may not eat much but after that 2-3 times a day
 
Man i underfeed. How do people dobit with full time jobs. Im gone 12 hours a day and never do it in the mornings.

People shouldn't breed unless they have the time to take care of new born pups

The same can be said for any breeder

If you breed dogs and have 8 pups in a litter its hard work

Rays are normally born fat so may not eat for the first few days

I have found the pups will take what ever the mother is feeding on best as they have the taste for it in my case crushed pellets or chopped prawn as much as they will eat 2-4 times per day with a good clean up crew to deal with left over food

Very true. But I am sure if I had some expensive rays that bred I would just wake up earlier before work to feed them.

So...because you don't have expensive rays you can get away with feeding them differently...facepalm.

I guess I am wasting my time getting up at 3:45 am to feed my cheap rays so they can have 2 meals a day.:banghead:

I dont breed any rays. My rays do fine on feeding once a day that I do have. Thank Bud ;) And sure If I did breed rays i am sure they will be fine feeding once a day. Isn't this thread about your own personal experience
