How Often to Change Eheim Media?

Evening all. I have an Eheim 2026 and was wondering how often (if ever) you change out the Cocoa Puffs and the Tubes (Efi whatever they are).

Also, does anyone use anything other than the Eheim media, or is it best to stick with Eheims stuff?

Howdy,

I replace the filter floss every couple of months, wash out the main media every half year, but never replace it. Mine is now several years old. And I stick to Eheim media, just because.

Don't replace the ehfisubstrat pro, or the ehfimech. Do as harley said. As far as better, the cellpore media is better, but clogs up much faster. I'd stick to eheim media, there are few that compare.
