How often do I need to feed my 4" Fahaka foods w/ shells to keep his beak trimmed? I have had him for a few days, and he is eating pealed market shrimp.

Keep the shell on those shrimp. I'd try at least 1-2 meals/week of mussles, crabs, crayfish, oyster, clam, for his teeth. Even if you crack the shells open, he will scrape his teeth on them getting the meat out.

when you have a puffer that gets the size of a fahaka or mbu, do you still feed bigger snails to them for teeth trimming too? like some apple snails? i dont have one, not really looking to get one(not yet anyway until i get my own place and can get a really big tank) just curious

There are plenty of other crunchy foods I can feed my fahaka, w/o bothering with snails.
