Hello everyone. My friend is moving and gave me his 6.5" female convict and two really old feeder goldfish. Any idea how old she could be? She's recovering from years with no heater and goldfish pellets. 
How old do you think?

If she’s that big what makes you think she needs recovery from a heater less tank? Just wondering, I’ve never seen a female con that size.
You could be right. It had a mate but it died before I got it and never got to see it.
Yeah man that looks like a male to me. I'd bet on it. Probably 5+ years old too. I have seen pics in the past of a 7" convict with measuring tape next to it. There are some threads on this site if you search through them, of real old/big convicts.
I agree, females usually display some bright (copper colored, or other ) colors in the abdomen area.
And I also don't see room temp as a problem, here in Panama some of the Amatitlania species live in fast flowing streams with head waters that begin in the mountains, and can remain quite cool.

Ok so it turns out my friends wife bought him 5 years ago. You guys are good that said 5+.

The goldfish that came with the convict are spawning. Should I remove the goldfish or is it just free feeders?
