What's the best way to tell how old your ray is? I have an 7-8 inch motoro and am interested in finding out how old he is.

Size at birth and growing rate can widely differ, so size is unsuitable to determine the age. In my captive breed pups the first stinger is shed about 6 months after birth. This is possibly a way to determine the age. But this may vary too.

i would say 7-8" would be less then one year... but like rayman said it could vary

thanks for the tip, is it possible that her is already past 6 months old because I just got him 3 weeks ago and I didn't think to ask the person that I got him from if he had shed his stinger yet. Are there any other ways to tell?
