how old is youre fw eel

i have a fire eell that is about 7 yrs old how old is your freshwater eel and what kind are they. does any one know how long they can live in a aquarium.

i had one for a year but out of nowhere he just stopped eating and died of starvation, it was so weird. he used to come up to the top and eat out of my hands then he'd just not even acknowledge that food was there.

3 of them are about 2.5 yrs 1 approx 2 yrs and 2 approx 6-8monthes.

There are alot of reasons spiney eels can and will die in such a fashion. tapeworm is one of a few I can think of off the top of my head.

I have 1 for over 2 months now, but was told at purchasetht it was 8-12 months. He or she is pushing 9-10inches and growing fast! Can't recall where I read it but they can live upto 15-20 in the wild. I've had one tht was 7 years old. Still living at a friend's house in a 240gallon.

I had one 18" one for a long time before i got rid of him and now i have a 12" and i had him for about 4 months.
