How or what to feed my eel?

Just got a Spotted eel, or Spiny eel. IDR which one, All I know is it has a small mouth, and isn't slimmy or aggressive. Lfs said to feed it frozen blood works. But frozen blood worms float and idt it has been eating the sinking shrimp or carnivore pellets. Any recommendations on how to get this thing to eat? Had it for 3

Looks like a black spotted eel or M dayi. I’d get some flakes, black worms, earthworms, cut up strips of tilapia. Mix it up.

How do I get it down to him? Just hand feed him Everytime? I'm 90% sure it's a spotted eel.

Agree with kno4te and like to add the Spiny Eel is probably still adjusting to its new environment.

Used feeding tongs initially. Eventually got comfortable and now hand feed on occasion.

Are you sure you were using frozen blood worms and not freeze dried blood worms?

It's a big frozen pallet that says "FROZEN FISH FOOD, BLOOD WORMS" So yes I am sure

I do not mean to insult you but I have not heard of frozen blood worms floating when they break apart, we’re you just tossing them in or were you helping it by stirring it and whatnot?
