I drove the lady at Petsmart nuts trying to catch this guy, but I've never seen a clown loach with a spot on one side. A steal at $9.99 because he was way bigger than the rest, probably over 4". Are these rare or do I not see enough clown loaches?

They can be hard to find. I have a couple of them and there are quite a few other members here who have found some. (Check out the loach photo thread.) I can go months without finding one and then find a couple in the same day.

It was a good pick up. I always get excited when I find a new oddball patterned loach.

I still don't have one, and I have been looking for 2 years.

I'd run like hell if I saw an "oddball" patterned CL, That lower jaw scares the poo outa me.:nilly:

Hey, nice find on the spotted loach. I'd like to find some myself.

Ive been seeing alot of odd pattern clown loaches lately.I thought someone must be breeding them because I have never seen such tiny ones before

I have 4 of them, all from Petsmart, I also have 2 4 bar loaches from a dumpy lfs, I rescue the poor guys from those places just look around in the places you wouldnt think would have them, except for like Home Depot and Finger Hut. I dont think they sell them anymore.

Unfortunately mine dont like to pose like Ewurms do but here is a pic of the 4 bar and the spot
