Are they pretty hard to get a hold of, or do they surface fairly regularly on places like Aquabid, and the various online fish retailers? Is $30 for a ~3 incher a good price? Any other info on them? Thanks!

They are not that hard to find but the wild ones are only available at certain times of the year. That price is a little high but not unusual. I couldn't give my F1s away so I stopped raising them.

I really don't care if is is wild or not (the one is question is), I just really love the pattern of the Notatus. For me normal severums are just ok, true mouth brooding Heros Severus are better, and the Notatus are just beautiful. (This place also has wild Heros cf. severus from Colombia - but I just like the Notatus pattern better.)

So do you think if I pass on this Notatus (I also think it is too pricey) that I would be able to find one cheaper?

I checked out those notatus in person a few weeks ago planning on picking up a couple, but I passed. They were pretty skinny and torn up. Just FYI.

You mean from Wetspot? Good to know. I think I have pretty much decided to pass anyway. Did you happen to see the Astronotus crassipinnis, of F1 Satanaperca leucosticta by any chance? They are on my order.
