How Rare?

My buddy just picked up a L199 inirida zebra pleco from an LFS, the guy is already full grown at ~2.5". I'm just curious as to how rare of a pickup this was and if the price was worth it, at $60 for the fish. Let me know mfkers!

Rarity in the hobby, fairly rare. Worth $60, no. Remember that rare and valuable do not go hand in hand.

I am not sure how rare they are but I have seen a guy sell them for 20 a piece at 3inches

aight guys thanks. I figured it was overpriced but couldn't really tell him myself,(the lfs is typical of overpricing). fairly rare, Im sure he'll enjoy that news.

I didn't research the max size lol but that was the info he was told at the lfs. if he does get bigger, im glad! 2.5" isnt much to work with... lol

Haha i had a few and they stay small and groe slow. Also I found they hid alot in my all pleco tank. Cute lil buggers I paid 30 a piece for 3. I think he wanted 40 each

They grew small as well? Also good. Haha this pleco may have been worth the money after all! NOT.

That is a very good way of explaning what many of us do not realize.
