The male moto that i have trouble getting to eat hurt himself somehow. Either the female was chewing on him but looks more like a scrape on his back. I have a heater in a plastic pipe that he might of wedged himself under or i highly doubt it the outlet of the fx5. Nothin else in the bare bottom tank to do it. I seen it sun morn and he ate his usual. Monday looked like it was scabing over and he ate. Yesterday he didn't eat and looks like he is sore. Not very active at all. Just wondering how sensitive they are to wounds because i have seen worse wounds on my oscar's that don't even seem to phase them. The rays wound looks like it is healing quickly.

I should a took a pic sun but didn't. The wound was white and looked like it had some skin hanging off it. Monday it looked like it started healing already. Does not look infected, skin is darkening up now and starting to blend in with his skin colour. No fungus growing. Just wondering if anyone thinks they feel more pain then the average fish does.

Came home from work and he was upside down dead. Disk all curled down. Don't think it had anything to do with his injury as it is not very visible at all. The only thing i can think off is what his diet was. Maybe not enough nutrition.IDK

the tail looks real thin. i would say it starved to death, or had parasites.
x2, In these past few months, there have been quite a few deaths where the ray curls down instead of up, most of these have been rays that wouldn't eat. What were you feeding? it didnt seem like your ray was eating at all.

Maybe not parisites as he was with the female since day one and she is growing very well but he was definitly skinny.

he was eating bloodworms twice a day. Every day i soaked a mixture of smelts bloodworm and pellets and watched him pick through the mixture and only eat bloodworms. He would eat gut loaded ghost shrimp but i did not feed him them everyday. The female eats everything and i was hoping he would eventually follow her lead. I got them both at xmas at the same size and he was in better shape then her.

Would you use prazipro? There feces always looked normal to me. She never gained any weight on bloodworms and ghost shrimp either. She onle gained weight and got a fatter tail after she started eating smelts and pellets.
