I want to move my desk(it's an office desk so like 6 feet long and a few feet wide) which has a 29 and a 20 on it. I don't really just want to push it because I doubt I could do it anyways with all of the stuff in the drawers plus don't want to spill any water.

If I drained the tanks down to like 2 maybe 3 inches from the substrate do you all think I could pick the tanks up and move it from the desk? I just don't want my tanks to like break or anything like that. Is this a safe thing to do? All of the fish in these tanks are bottom dwellers so they would be fine.

I used to carry a half filled 10 gallon around and it really wasnt that bad. You will be fine with the 20 but the 29 might be pretty hard...I would get some water out of the 29 move the tank and put the water back in soon but if it is a short move then you should be good moving the tanks.

As long as you keep enough water in the tanks to cover the whole fish and you do not leave the tanks like it for a long time you should be fine .

But why dont you just find a large contaner and transfer the water and fish into that and then you will be able to empty the whole tank of water , move the tanks away off the desk then move your desk , place your tanks back on where you wan them and add water , add fish .

Better for your fish and would be easier to move the desk as the tanks would be totaly empty and off yourr desk . :)

once you get them mostly drained why dont you just leave them on the desk.. once the weight is prettymuch gone theres not much point in lifting/twisting them..

is the desk real wood or sawdust with glue?

That seems the easiest way actually. It's literally only like 2 maybe 3 feet of pushing then it's done.

The desk is made of metal with a metal slab for the top with a wood top over it for looks really. It's ancient, but it works for the tanks and other junk on it which I never put away. It would be fine to push, wouldn't fall apart ot anything.

there ya go....

fyi.. right after i posted that i moved my 29 and 25tall tanks that sit on a really old dresser in my livingroom.. i draind them down to about an inch or so then just moved the whole thing.. now i can set up my doublestacked 100g/60g setup..
